Meet and greet at Bagdogra Airport and drive to Phuentsholing. Phuentsholing (alt. 300m / 985 ft.) - The frontier town, it is a thriving commercial centre, situated directly at the base of Himalayan foothills. It is a fascinating place where different ethnic groups mingle prominently Indian, Bhutanese and Nepalese. Being the border town, Phuentsholing serves as the convenient entry/exit point for Bhutan and also the important link to visit the Indian states of West Bengal, Sikkim and Assam.
After breakfast, proceed towards Thimphu via the wonderful mystic town Gedu, which is about 9000 ft above the sea and Chukha Dam. On the way, halt at Chojun to take photographs of the confluence of two rivers of Bhutan, Thimpu Chu and Paro Chu. Reach Thimpu in the evening. Visit the Tashichho Dzong (Fortress of the Glorious Religion). THIMPHU - The capital town of Bhutan and the centre of government, religion and commerce, Thimphu is a unique city with an unusual mixture of modern development alongside ancient traditions. With a population of about 90,000, it is perhaps still the world's only capital city without a traffic light.
Visit enchanting local sites as part of your Bhutan tour itinerary. Visit Kuensel Phodrang, National Memorial Chorten, Folk Heritage Museum, Typical Bhutanese lunch at the Folk Heritage Restaurant, Sangaygang view point, Takin Reserve Centre, Changangkha Monastery, Tashichho Dzong. Later depart to Punakha / Wangdue Phodrang. Enroute, visit the famous DochuLa Pass (3,080m) that heralds the most enchanting views of Bhutan.
In the morning after breakfast, visit PUNAKHA DZONG built strategically at the junction of PHO CHU & MO CHU River, Suspension Bridge, and Chimmi Monastery View. Later, drive to Paro and visit NYA MEY ZAM BRIDGE, RINPUNG DZONG, KICHU LHAKHANG, INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, MUSEUM and TIGER NEST VIEW.
Morning, after breakfast, drive to chellela view point sightseeing, Chele La Pass is at over 13,000 ft to the west above the Paro Valley is the highest road pass in the country and has amazing views of the Himalaya especially that of Mt. Jhomolari, Bhutan's most sacred peak at over 22,000 feet and drive back to Paro.
After breakfast check out from the hotel and transfer to Phuentsholing. On arrival check in at the hotel.
After breakfast check out from the hotel and take the departure transfer to NJP Railway Station / IXB Airport for your onward journey.
